In the highlands of Cuilco, Huehuetenango, coffee runs deep. Rugged mountains, high elevations, and cool, dry conditions create an exceptional environment for coffee, allowing cherries to ripen slowly and develop the vibrant acidity and sweetness for which the region is known. In Hoja Blanca, the Villatoro family has cultivated coffee since the 1950s, passing knowledge and a devotion to the craft through three generations. Primos Unidos—“United Cousins”—is the next chapter of that story, brought to life by Rodin, Jenner, Denis, Riner, and Maikel Villatoro. The cousins have inherited their family’s high standards while bringing a new generation’s curiosity and precision to every harvest. They carefully select ripe cherries, separate day picks, and spend countless hours cupping in the family lab, refining each lot until it reveals its fullest expression. The result is a beautifully balanced coffee, with pecan and cocoa depth layered beneath the juicy sweetness of plum and cola. A medium body carries these flavors effortlessly, with a lingering, smooth finish. Primos Unidos is a coffee shaped by family, place, and generations of knowledge—a glimpse into the future of the Villatoro legacy.
